Overview

Estate settings control how distributions run—tiebreakers, dibs limits, value systems, and more. Maybe you’re fine with the defaults, or maybe you’ve got a complex family and need to tweak the rules. Here’s where you do it.

Steps

  1. Go to EstateSettings (or the settings icon in your estate view).
  2. Value system — Choose dollars, points, or no points.
  3. Tiebreaker mode — Simple (3 automatic rules), Advanced (8 rules, enable/disable), or Expert (weights and sliders).
  4. Dibs limits — How many dibs each person can call (default is often 3).
  5. Point allocations — If using points, set budgets by tier or per person.
  6. Save your changes—they apply to the next distribution you start.
