Overview

Roles control who can do what. Admins run the show. Asset Managers handle the stuff. Member Managers handle the people. Everyone else is a member (beneficiary). Maybe you’re deciding who to trust with what, or you’re confused why someone can’t see a button.

Admin / Executor

  • Full access: assets, members, settings, distribution, disputes, audit log.
  • Can assign any role.
  • Typically the executor or primary decision-maker.

Asset Manager

  • Can add, edit, and archive assets.
  • Can view members but not add, edit, or archive them.
  • Can’t change estate settings or run distribution.
  • Good for someone helping catalog without needing full control.

Member Manager

  • Can add, edit, and archive members (except admins).
  • Can only assign Member-level roles (Descendant, Beneficiary, etc.)—not Asset Manager or Member Manager.
  • Can’t manage assets or run distribution.
  • Good for someone handling the family roster.

Member

  • View assets and members.
  • Like, rank, call dibs, file disputes.
  • No management access.
